One day of hiking wasn’t enough, so Chris and I hiked up to Delicate Arch in Arches National Park. I’ve done so much solitary hiking this winter that I really enjoyed the chance to hike with a companion. We were able to visit as we hiked up the trail in the heat and sun. We also had fun taking selfies to send to our children.
I never seem to get tired of the rock formations; all the various colors, shapes, textures, and weathering. Judging by how many people were hiking up this mountainside along side us, I’d say I don’t stand alone in this fascination.
Chris and I crammed a whole lot of visiting into my 24-hour visit and have now forged a friendship based on our own selves, beyond our love of our shared children and grandchildren.
