Summer evenings in Michigan are a pefect time to get out and enjoy live music. When I lived and worked in Michigan I liked to get out and catch the concerts in the various communities. On Friday evenings one can choose between one in downtown East Lansing or another at Lake Lansing Park in Haslett. A different group is invited to perform each week and so I checked the listings to choose which type of music I preferred to enjoy.
This night I chose East Lansing. The band performing, Starfarm, is a local 80’s Pop/Rock band with a very enthusiastic following of concert goers. My chair was very close to the stage, but there was a small dance space provided right in front of the band and it quickly filled with people who stood, jumped, clapped, and danced throughout the entire performance. I wasn’t able to see the band once they started performing but the music was great, the enthusiasm contagious, and I was delighted to be back in Michigan celebrating summer in a familiar setting.
